There are statues representing our grandchildren tucked into the landscape of our front gardens. We carefully selected each one so that it reflects a little bit of who that child is. Truthfully, finding statues of little girls is much easier than for little boys so our youngest grandson had reached the advanced age of 18 months and I still hadn't found the right statue for him until I stopped in at a small landscape supply to pick up some pine straw and there he was! We think it looks just like him.
James is a delightful child who loves to play outdoors. Flowers fascinate him but his true love is sticks! Whenever he is outdoors at Grandma's house, he immediately finds a great stick, sometimes he carries several. I hope he keeps his love of the outdoors for a lifetime.
No doubt about it he is a cutie. I too hope he keeps his love of the outdoors.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the statues, loads of little girls but very few boys. With one exception I have been looking for a little girl holding a cat to put in our pet graveyard but I cannot find any. I find loads of boys holding a puppies.
The truly strange thing about it is up in the mountains about 45 minutes from where we live there are five or six businesses that poor concrete statuary, it is their soul occupation, and they do nothing more. And yet I've been to all six and no one has a little girl with the cat. They have each told me that they don't even own a mold of such a thing. It has been several years since we have been up there so we are planning another trip soon and hopefully someon will have gotten the mold and started pouring it.
